Who Framed Roger Federer?

Who Framed Roger Federer?
Tennis string, Wilson Six.One 90 BLX tennis racquet and oil on canvas. 36in x 12in

Roger Federer, arguably the greatest tennis player of all time, has been the face of tennis for a long time. This piece is my tribute to his greatness.

The inspiration for this piece came to me in various forms. His legacy at Wimbledon. His impact on fans and players of all ages. His mere image. All of this, along with having the exact model racquet that he’s known for brought it all together.

The racquet used is the Wilson Six.One 90 BLX model and is customized to Roger’s set-up. From the grip to the strings, the details are all there. His entire image is made of tennis string which is glued onto the strung racquet and layered with oil paint to provide a bold look. The racquet is mounted on a grass court painted canvas with two brackets at the top and bottom. It sits above the canvas about 2 to 3 inches which casts a wonderful shadow onto the grass court canvas, stamping his legacy at Wimbledon.

This piece has sold. If you have any questions regarding this work, please contact me.
